We received our first boat-warming gift this week! A package from Amazon arrived at my office and I was puzzled because I hadn’t ordered anything. I opened it to find a copy of An Embarrassment of Magoes: A Caribbean Interlude by Ann Vanderhoof along with a sweet note from a sailing couple we know, Mary and John Homan. The Homans sail their 22′ Capri, “Toto,” at Carter Lake, a scenic little (by blue-water standards) watering hole nestled up against the foothills of the Rocky Mountains southwest of Loveland, Colorado. The book is touted to be a witty tale about the Vanderhoofs, a couple who rented out their home to sail 42′ boat around the Caribbean for a couple years. It will be the perfect escape from the dirty work of cleaning Sundown. Thank you, Mary and John!
