Tomorrow is Thanksgiving 2015, and while we give thanks every day for the many blessings bestowed upon us, it seems the time of year when people publicly proclaim what they’re grateful for, so…
We’ve been blessed with visitors again.
Last week, Alex Schick and his girlfriend, Stephanie, who both live in Fort Collins, took the ferry from Anacortes to Deer Harbor to hang out with us. They were visiting Alex’s parents who live on Camano Island, WA, (just south of Anacortes) and drove a car from there onto a ferry which dropped them off at the Orcas Island landing. They picked us up from the marina and chauffeured us to the big town of Eastsound where we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Mia’s Cafe. The weather was really rough that day, so we couldn’t reciprocate and treat Alex and Stephanie to a sail; perhaps next time.
Last night, Brian and Anni Russell came to dinner. We made rellenos, cilantro/lime rice, guacamole, salsa and memories. If you are a regular reader of our posts, you’ll remember that we were host parents to Brian when he attended the Covenant Bible College in Windsor, Colorado. That was about 12 years ago. We ran back into Brian when we attended the Lettered Streets Church in Bellingham, WA, back in September. We’re delighted to be reacquainted with him and now his beautiful wife.
It goes without saying we’re also SO thankful for our health, the work that sustains us, this amazing adventure we’re on, each other, and the many friends and family we hold so dear. We are blessed beyond measure and hope you feel you have much for which to be thankful, too.
Happy thanksgiving Kim and Clay! Hope to see you this coming year!
And to you, Aunt Judy! I’m looking forward to seeing you and enjoying some warm CA sunshine!
Thanks Kim for sharing your home and lives so graciously in Fort Collins. Your letter shows your love reflecting back.
Have a wonderful Advent Season,
